General Culture:
Easily grown in slightly alkaline, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. Avoid planting in areas with poor drainage where crowns will remain wet in winter. Needs good air circulation. Somewhat intolerant of summer heat and humidity. Remove stems of spent flowers promptly to prolong bloom period.

Noteworthy Characteristics:
Mat-forming, dense, gray-green, linear, grass-like foliage spreading 12" is covered with pink flowers on stems up to 8" from late spring into early summer. Flowers are 1.5" across, fringed and fragrant.
Problems:
No serious insect or disease problems. Leaf spot can be troublesome in humid summers, particularly where plants are crowded.
Uses:
Excellent plant for the rock garden, border front or as an edger.
