General Culture:
Easily grown in average, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates hot and humid summers and some drought. Tolerates light shade, but best in full sun. Deadhead to prolong bloom. Divide when clumps become overcrowded.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
This cultivar is a compact, upright,clump-forming, free-blooming coneflower which typically grows only 1' tall. Features daisy-like flowers with yellow rays and dark brownish-purple center disks. Prolific flower production over a long mid-summer-to-fall bloom period. Medium green foliage. Good fresh cut flower.
Problems:
No serious insect or disease problems.
Uses:
This compact cultivar is very effective mixed with other perennials or massed in bold drifts in the perennial border front, rock garden or cottage garden. Provides excellent bloom and color for late summer.
